The first SLS/GCNI Joint Seminar Co-organized by School of Life Sciences (SLS) and the Gerald Choa Neuroscience Institute (GCNI), the first SLS/GCNI joint seminar was held at Cheng Yu Tung Building, The Chinese University of Hong Kong on October 29, 2024. Prof. Kevin TALBOT, Head of the Nuffield Department of Clinical Neurosciences at the University of Oxford, delivered a lecture titled “Key therapeutic targets underlying motor neuron degeneration in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)”. The seminar attracted over 80 participants, including Prof. Edwin CHAN, Director of SLS, and Prof. Bruce RANSOM, Director of GCNI. The participants exchanged and discussed their experiences and insights in neuroscience research, particularly in the area of neurodegenerative diseases such as ALS. This inaugural joint seminar opens the door to exciting collaborative opportunities and lays the groundwork for SLS/GCNI joint seminar series. |
