From 2009, CUHK launched the Broad-based Admissions Scheme of the Life Sciences Programmes under the Faculty of Science. It aims to facilitate students in identifying their interests in the diverse fields of life sciences before selecting a major programme.

The Life Sciences Programmes encompass six major programmes including Biochemistry, Biology (including Human Biology stream offered jointly with the Faculty of Medicine), Cell and Molecular Biology, Environmental Science, Food and Nutritional Sciences, and Molecular Biotechnology.

Each major offers unique education and training in their respective fields of life sciences, and prepares graduates for the versatile careers and postgraduate studies in biological, biomedical, health sciences as well as other related fields.

If applicants wish to enroll in any one of the six majors, they are invited to apply our Life Sciences Programmes with the JUPAS Code of JS4601.
